Fall Schedules:The team practice schedule is as follows: Admirals: 10-11am off-ice & 11-11:50am on ice Sailors: 4:30-6:15pm off-ice & 6:15-7:45pm on ice Skipjacks: 2:45-3:15pm off ice & 3:15-4:30pm on-ice Topsails: 3:15-4pm on-ice PLEASE plan on arriving 15 minutes ahead of your practice time as practice will start promptly at the scheduled time. Pin Update: The Chesapeake Synchro pins have arrived! If you have ordered pins please see Coach Lauren at practice to pick them up. Fundraising Updates: ● The CSS Halloween themed skate fundraiser was a success. All of our ghouls and goblins seemed to have a great time. Kimmie Meisner and her friend Courtney also joined in the festivities as rock band members! Thank you to all who worked the event. Special thanks to the Peggs, Lintz, Zulauf, and Kocur families for all the countless hours spent organizing the event. ● The Holiday show at Iceworld is scheduled for January 16th and January 17th. We will be having a bake sale during that event. Board Meeting: The club board meeting is scheduled for November 22, 2009 at 4:30pm. If you have organizational issues you want to have addressed, please contact your team fundraising chair so that they may bring these concerns to the meeting. Team Sponsorship Levels: Dawn Zulauf has finalized our team sponsorship program levels. We are using it to solicit business donations in return for advertising. Please promote our club to businesses with whom you frequent. The sponsorship level explanation form and application is under the sponsor link of the website. Feel free to print off copies and hand them out to businesses. A general donation request letter is already available for you to print and hand out in the members only section of the website. 501(c)3 Status: We are currently pursuing non-profit status and Brigid B. has volunteered to coordinate all the paperwork and other requirements for this. We will be having a club-wide fundraiser in January to fund the fees associated with it. Website Calendar: Thank you to Willow Fyffe who has been updating the calendar on the website. Please contact her with any additions that you would like added to your teams calendar. Picture Request: We would like more pictures for our website, so please continue to take pictures and forward them to Coach Lauren. Picture Board Maintenance Committee: We would like to have a volunteer(s) from all the teams to be considered for the Bulletin Board Committee. This group would be responsible for updating and managing the picture board next to our synchro bulletin board. This space is currently being redesigned to have space for all the teams as well as to display our trophies etc…. If interested, please let Lauren know. Admiral News: The Admirals raised $234.88 in the Halloween Skate Night fundraiser. They have currently raised $817.38 of their $1000 commitment. Their next fundraiser is Looney’s night on Wednesday November 18, from 5-8pm. A portion of all purchases will go to the Admirals, please come out and show your support. Sailor News: The Sailors raised $784.88 at the Halloween Skating Fundraiser. They have currently raised $1944.55 towards their $1500 goal! A scratch-off fundraiser will be used to purchase team fleece jackets and a Five Below Fundraiser in Whitemarsh in December will be used for any other costs above the estimates in the budget. Updates are coming. We are continuing to collect items to turn into money. Please donate empty cartridges, unused cell phones, and aluminum cans and bring them in to any practice!!! Skipjack News: The girls are working hard on traveling circles; shoot the ducks in a circle; triangle intersection; and spread eagles. As they are preparing to compete in a more rigorous division this year with more advanced elements, it is vital that each skater arrive to practice on time and ready to go. While a goal of our program is for the skaters to have fun, there is also alot of work involved with learning the new skills and program. To accomplish these goals, skaters are expected to be focused in practice and spend time on their own perfecting skills. The Skipjacks raised $464.88 at the Halloween Skating Fundraiser. They have currently raised $1496.65 towards their $1500 goal! If anyone has ideas for other types of fundraisers, please contact Brenda Peggs. Topsail News: We are still looking for more skaters for this team. If anyone you know is interested in learning more about synchro or is interested in skating synchro, please contact Rochelle Mendelsohn or Lauren Neidig for more information. Competition Requirements: Before each competition, all skaters must sign a waiver that basically gives permission for the skater to compete in the competition. This form is sent in with the application when the competition registration is sent in. Each team has a competition coordinator, they are also collecting signatures for the waiver, release, and consent to treat form for each skater. These are taken to each competition so that we have a written copy on site. Using the USFSA number, the skater must also log on to the USFSA website. The username and password is the skater USFSA number. Once you have logged on for the first time, you will be required to change the password, so you can make it anything you would like. Once you have logged in, you need to go to online event registration, then event manager, then waivers. You will fill out the same waiver forms on line and submit them so that USFSA has a copy as well. You will also complete the medical form and submit that online. Once you have completed all of these things, you do not need to complete them again unless some of your information changes.
